Hard Research Shows Journalists Are Drunkards With Brain Damage!!!

H.L. Mencken said these very things almost a hundred years ago about journalists as a breed!

They are people who want to seize the high moral ground for a reason. They're damaged goods. Botched and bungled. No talent for self-understanding and most likely to cope by using alcohol or narcotics!

I've worked at 4 magazines, three newspapers and two television stations. I concur 100% with this diagnosis. Funny how your gut instinct tells you they have poor executive function 30 years before it is confirmed by science!

Tex, they completely, utterly butchered the results of this study. It's propaganda to make mindfulness, meditation and being an empty-headed, vegetative retarded cunt look good. It's the usual trash. It's actually the opposite: Journalists typically operate at a higher level than most of people, at a faster pace. Because they're constantly moving around, constantly in contact with information, words and stuff and processing and manipulating it.

They've basically said that just exactly because of this, just exactly because they don't meditate and be mindful (and as such don't have anxiety) they operate at a lower level, it's false. The only good emotional and anxiety chasing effects that come from meditation is from the fact that it makes you empty headed and strips you of your ability to think or your concern with the world or any problem at all. They're ALWAYS encouraging meditation and mindfulness because of this. It's one of those dangerous and destructive cool hippie fads.

American journalism (like the journalism of any other country) is predominantly paltry and worthless. Its pretensions are enormous, but its achievements are insignificant.
