"I'm a nationalist and a globalist"

We're done here, take down the campaign posters and throw that MAGA cap in the trash.

Anyhoo, he still isn't Hillary at least. That was fun while it lasted. You know it was one hell of a scam when it even caught people like me up in it. It was a brief distraction with plenty of lulz watching this Manchurian candidate demolish the other globalist puppets who were ringers this time around.

What I want to know is ... how deep can a barrel of rice be before you risk spoilage from the weight of the contents on the rice underneath it? Is the 55 gal. blue a good idea with the rice touching the sides? What about the risk of offgassing toxic plastic fumes into the rice over ten years? Is it better to always pack the rice in sealed mylar bags then put those into the drum?

Well about that rice and stuff, it seems all this DPRK thing was just another communication operation (back in my days we called this a show, like, the Muppet Show) in order to strong arm some goodies from the colonies, like forcing South Korea to buy a horribly missile system that doesn't work (same old, same old).

The USA thinks they can pressure Canada and Mexico to "contribute" more to the empire.

Rememeber, the "automation devastation" will be global, and economies that live only through supplying the US with stuff are going to suffer even more than the US.

Are you not used to the "start yuge, then negotiate" way he works yet?

So what, HDPE (plastic in barrels) off-gases, but mylar doesn't? The Mormon's aren't using those little dessicant packets anymore. But, 5 packets should be enough for a 55 gallon barrel. If you use 20 packets, amazing things happen to the barrel, like it is being sucked into a black hole from the inside.

Grain elevators. I don't think the depth of a 55 gallon drum is anything to worry about it. Strategic rice reserves are piled much higher than that.

Don't be too boolean on Trump - he's not a manchurian candidate, just a fallible old man who promised more than he could deliver.

I'd use nitrogen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8E5kDcbOGE

Or CO2 (cheaper) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFRlidbpmTk

Still interested in making the "Bootstrap 20th Century Civilization Manual"? We'd need to crowdsource it to pay for it, but it might be fun to do...

from y2k experience, rice in blue barrel equals spoiled rice. mylar bags, o2 absorbers and/or nitro purged. bugs already in the rice via eggs, hatch out and eat all the rice in oxygen rich environment. no, not more protein, their feces toxic. hope this helps.

My idea for saving rice is to use metal trash cans. Insert plastic garbage bags into the trash cans. Get a cardboard box and put dry ice in it and put in the bottom. Fill up with rice. The CO2 will kill off bugs and stay in the can. The question is will the CO2 stay in the plastic? I would think so. Especially if you have several.

@Sam

The garbage bags, even ones with "food safe" on them, are very toxic to food and decay very rapidly. They are designed to disintegrate after only a few months. Food stored in them or around them can absorb all kinds of toxic compounds when they decay. I had some egg powder stored in a container with them around 2002 and when I opened it in 2012 the plastic smell almost knocked me out.

Thnks for that I'll have to reconsider.

I wonder if there are any 30 gallon HDPE bags? OK so I did what I should have and searched for "high-density polyethylene (HDPE) food plastic bags". Found lots. I think that would be the way to go. Looking around it might be that you will need to go to the foil backed plastics for maximum life. I do like the metal cans for storage as it keeps out rodents.
