My Neanderthal Sense Was Tingling
Queensland appears to be on the verge of increased seismic activity!
This is the number one reason we moved from the Gold Coast to Melbourne. I talked my wife into it with a bunch of semantics until she agreed to it. We're happy in Melbourne but I never told her the relief I experienced when I stopped having the nightmares after we got here.
We originally moved there because of my logical, rational mind working on the problem. We moved away because I listened to my irrational subconscious.
The truth is, all people with "Asperger's Syndrome" are as sensitive as Siamese Cats to changes in their environment. It is one of the primary traits that nobody can fake. It has been said that people with "Asperger's" can sense seismic movements that "neurotypicals" can't even feel. This may have been what was giving me nightmares in the wee moments of the morning there on the Gold Coast. Most quake activity occurs around sunrise. I think my subconscious was registering shifts and shivers in the tectonic plate that others didn't detect and it was giving me bad dreams. I stopped waking up with my heart pounding after we moved to Melbourne and no longer had that sensation a gigantic colossal wave was rolling in.
I am always aftershocked when you hear the the "experts" blame the quake activity ... on quake activity. Well, that is one way of looking at it. Experience says when you get them at a fairly high rating several days in a row, things have not finished down there. They may just be starting. A lot of this in Queensland looks like preliminaries, not "aftershocks." The self-styled experts have only begun to learn to recognize these patterns in the past twenty years. Before that, you had to depend on folklore and instinct which has proved amazingly prophetic in the past.
