Why Fail Is Fail No Matter What Humanatans And Chimpmanzees May Claim

I get this constantly in my profession.

I'm making sense, the other person is knowingly talking absolute semantic-free gibberish and is signaling me with their eyes "You need to reciprocate or I will expose us both as charlatans." The thing is, I am not a charlatan. They just assume everybody else is making it up as they go along as well. The point of contention is not whether or not I am some kind of village idiot who barely knows how to proceed - that's a given - it is that I really am a software developer who does not need to fabricate speech to sound confident. I never sound confident in any situation because I know enough about software development to know that people who speak with confidence and self-assurance are not qualified to work as software developers.

In software development you propose an approach to be tested by implementing it as a prototype with the assumption you may get feedback that it is not the correct way to proceed. All those guys who act like software development is paint-by-numbers? All of them according to the research are ordinary people with no aptitude (or enthusiasm) who are acting out in order to get paychecks on Friday. All of them. There are so many fakes that at some companies, everybody assumes everyone else must be faking it too.

Yup. And try to explain that to management. It's like trying explain basic math to fish. Their minds are utterly incapable of grasping the concepts.

My team has made a couple of proof of concepts and then had to support them in production because management turned around and sold the POC as if it was production ready. All of a sudden it's our fault and we have to deal with the mess they create.

So far, after 17 years of programming, the entire management staff of every company I've worked for are charlatans. Every single one.

And don't get me started on other programming teams.

I'm pretty sure most companies operate like chimp tribes, the posturing and rituals hide their incompetence but makes for bonding and creating social ties that the smarter chimps can work with to advance their careers. Kipling's description of the monkeys in his Jungle Books are dead on.

Of course, this is how companies enter deals with each other and make money. Chimp from company A gets together with Chimp from company B and they do the chimp rituals, a contract is signed because both chimps recognize each other, then the layers of the corporation grind into gear until a few actual workers get something done that the customers are willing to pay for, and the chimps on top get bonuses for not burning the whole thing down to the ground and the workers get the scraps.

I've had my faith in Christianity strengthened by working in corporations, the Bible's descriptions of a fallen world match what I see inside businesses.

Lots of interesting correlations with your theories here Tex

Why do otherwise European-looking people have dark pigmentation gat this stage? Other press reports from this find show that the dental bacteria from a hunter-gatherer diet is beneficial to human health, whereas dental bacteria from carb-eating agriculturalists promote cancer etc.

@Russel-

The reason (in a worldly sense) that I became a Christian is precisely that- Christianity's concept of a fallen world provides the most accurate model of humanity that I've found. You want to know how any given person will act in a situation? Just ask how a broken, sinful, selfish, rebellious version of polished, public image of that person would act in that situation, and you can pretty much count on being correct. Christianity is, with a couple of exceptions, the only factor that modifies the model, ie. If someone claims to be a Christian and is obviously trying to emulate Jesus, then the model breaks down, and you get a surprise. Otherwise, start looking around for some handy cherubim with flaming swords to stand behind, just in case.
