Killing'em Softly Is Good Business For Medicine

All doctors need to do now is develop a "treatment" that boasts a superior survival rate to the untreated. The problem with that sort of treatment is that it doesn't generate enough income for the doctor who scores the lucky diagnosis. Cancer is awesome for doctors because once you net a "cancer patient" you can basically bank on getting everything he owns before he dies in billing secure in the knowledge the dead can't sue for lack of results. Any doctor who is honest will tell you that he can take the rest of the year off once he finds a rube he can label as "cancerous" and start the whole rope-a-dope process going. It's better than the Inquisition but probably just as painful over the long term.

All I have to offer you is Vitamin D. Get it everyday, preferably from sunshine, capsules if it is all you have. If you knew how powerful research shows this stuff to be you'd understand why the doctor is always warning you to stay out of the sun "for god's sake." He means "for my sake, I still have to pay off my Lamborgini."

(Also, get at least 8 hours of deep sleep in a completely blacked-out room each night with no light leaks. Very, very important.)

Since I was a kid being hammered with the aussie, 'slip, slop, slap' propaganda of the early 1980's I was suspicious that the general masses were being warned to stay out of the sun, rub 'sunblock' into the skin and ultimately, fear the sun. My childhood understanding of the sun was that the sun nurtures life, promotes plant growth and so on.

Apart from healthy 6 to 10 hour daily doses of sun coupled with reef tanning oil, I augment the Vitamin D doses generated from the sun with with Cod Liver Oil.

I really have to go out of my way to become ill, though 4 to 6 hours of deep sleep is more than enough for me.

Here's the problem with this idea. The doctors we talk to are GPs and don't get much money from treatment of us if we have cancer. The cancer treatment money goes to specialists and hospitals. GPs don't get it.

They actually have incentive to keep us healthy so we keep coming back for checkups and routine illnesses instead of transferring to other doctors who specialize in cancer treatment.

Once again you fail the logic test, Tex. You get an F- only because I can't give you a lower grade than that.

It goes even deeper. I had a painful wisdom tooth which I wanted to pull out a few months ago, but to milk me the dentist made a temporary filling. Another month went by and I still could not eat on it, still felt pain all the time, then I found this blog post:

http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2009/03/reversing-tooth-decay.html

Since then, I've been taking 8000IUs of vit D3, fish oil and 1.8g of calcium a day. I've also been having bone marrow soup for 3 meals a week and sitting shirtless in my room on sunday mornings to soak in the weak sun we have. Within a day I noticed a difference, the tooth has been repairing itself. Now I'm happily eating on it, no pain, only if I bite down real hard I can feel it. Also, the rest of my teeth are remineralizing, going from semi-translucent at the edges to whiter and whiter. I've switched to a mostly low carb diet, the only grains I've been eating are 50g~ of white rice a day to stop cravings. If it was any less instant, I could go on believing the temporary filling kicked in, but it wasn't.

On another note, I'm starting lifting. Are you still lifting Tex? If so, what program do you follow? Almost as heavy as you can manage (90%~) squats, deadlift, benchpress, etc then more than your previous max (105%~) for the last set? I have no experience in this area.

Unless you're simply trying to lose weight, it's more important to avoid polyunsaturated fatty acids (excepting omega 3 in moderate quantities) than carbs (possibly excepting fructose). Don't confuse weight-inducing sources of calories with cancer producing ones.

I have wisdom teeth that give me problems. Periodically they hurt and hurt bad. My regimen is much simpler than yours. I wait. Usually after a day or two the pain goes away.

In other words, the effects you attribute to your regimen may simply be the result of waiting out the pain.
