What is amusing to me is how effete, sheltered and tame the modern citizen is. Truly like something out of Huxley's Brave New World. They always seem to believe that a clash between China and America will consist of strongly worded emails to one another or perhaps some kind of courteous trade sanction.

WE THINK YOU MAY HAVE ERRED IN YOUR EVALUATION OF THE SITUATION.
This is what happens when you get four generations of men without warfare or struggle. Nobody hates war more than I do ... but just consider the alternative. When you breed men for whom war is unthinkable you are laying the groundwork for the next unthinkable war. Every generation that has ever sneered at the idea they may be facing a new war has forthwith died screaming in that very same war with a really shocked expression on their faces. This has been the case for thousands and thousands of years. Men who smirk at the notion that conflict may be resolved by violence between nations have always been doomed to die in those conflicts.
What a shame that man is not a learning animal.
Winston Churchill said that sometimes men stumble over the truth accidentally. They usually manage to pick themselves up and keep going as though nothing had happened.
