Isn't that amazing? My honored Father, an Army soldier for 32 years (1937-1969) told me that in order to get a security clearance in the military in the 50's and 60's you couldn't be a member of any organization, club or political party that was considered a threat to the U.S. He said the John Birch society was high on the list. He couldn't understand that because of the so called witch hunts going on at the time, ferreting out communists, and the fact that the JBS was very anti-communist. If he were alive today, he would finally understand.
